LAUSD is opening Opt-In applications for Fall 2026 transportation starting this month. Whether you’re looking to save time on the morning commute or looking for the safest way for your student to get to class, now is the time to secure your spot.
⚠️ Important Reminder
Bus Transportation services do NOT automatically renew. Even if your student had a bus route last year, every parent must opt-in annually to be included in the upcoming school year's schedule. Don't miss the window!
📅 Key Dates & Details
April – May 2026: Opt-in window via the Parent Portal.
Mid-July: Route notifications posted in the Parent Portal.
Late July: Mailers with route details arrive at home.
📍 Who is Eligible?
Eligibility is based on the "Walk Out" distance from your school:
Elementary Students: Living outside of 1 mile.
